If you are looking for a perfect one of a kind gift, be sure to stop in at the Purple Avocado at 904 Curry.  For handmade jewelry, scarves, pottery, paintings and more, you can’t miss the Artisans’ Store, located in the Brewery Arts Center on King St.  While there be sure to check out the art gallery and grab a performance schedule for later.

If the Northern Nevada scenery has left you wishing you could take some home, stop in at the Great Basin Gallery, 110 S. Curry.  Paintings of Nevada and the West are their specialty.

A wide selection of jewelry is available at the Jewelry Bench located at 329 N. Carson St.  They have unique designs and a lovely collection of turquoise.

The Basil on Carson Street has delicious Thai cuisine, difficult to choose between Pad Thai noodles or one of their curries.
Garibaldi’s is a cozy spot for pasta, fish or unique salads.  (Local’s hint: try the Cajun shrimp salad with fresh mozzarella and berries in season.)

Juan’s Kitchen in Mo & Sluggo’s won’t disappoint you.  Some of the best Mexican fare in the region is offered in this unassuming restaurant.

There are more offerings downtown, but lets save some choices for dinner!

2-3pm or later, if you have the energy!
Explore the shops of Telegraph Square.  Cherokee Scents has a great selection of candles, Beauty and the Beads will appeal to the crafter in your group.  Pick up some specialty teas and maybe even a new tea pot at La Tea Da.  You can even stop in for an afternoon coffee at Blondees in the Telegraph Square Alley and yes, that is a Cigar Bar, complete with a nice selection of Martini’s!

Carson City also has a Wal Mart, Costco and Lowes. Several shops are located in the Carson Mall on North Carson Street, including Coral West, a great place to buy western wear. Be sure to check out their selection of boots and hats!

What's For Dinner?
The selection is so varied and delicious; you are going to have to stay for a few days!

Adele's is always first on everyone's list for a special 5 star dining experience. (Local's Hint: don't order off the menu with out hearing the long list of tempting specials!) Housed in a Victorian mansion, you are guaranteed a special evening at Adele's.

For a more traditional Italian dinner, you can't go wrong at Garibaldi's. The food and service never disappoint. Locals Hint: This is the place to go if you love Tiramisu.
