Fortified for a day of shopping, begin your day with a stroll down Carson City’s Historic Old Town. Antique lovers will enjoy the selection at Abel House Antiques (1114 N. Curry Street), Hannifin’s Antiques (210 Carson Street) or White Cat Antiques (512 N. Curry Street.) In the market for a Persian rug? Check out the selection at Shahrams (corner of Curry and Spear). Also visit The Holiday House.
If you are looking for a perfect one of a kind gift, be sure to stop in at the Purple Avocado (904 Curry Street). For handmade jewelry, scarves, pottery, paintings and more, you can’t miss the Artisans’ Store (in the Brewery Arts Center on King Street). While there be sure to check out the art gallery and grab a performance schedule for later.
If the Northern Nevada scenery has left you wishing you could take some home, stop in at the Great Basin Gallery (110 S. Curry Street.) Paintings of Nevada and the West are their specialty.
A wide selection of jewelry is available at the Jewelry Bench (329 N. Carson Street) They have unique designs and a lovely collection of turquoise.

Choices for lunch are as varied as your appetite.
The Basil (on Carson Street) has delicious Thai cuisine, difficult to choose between Pad Thai noodles or one of their curries.
Garibaldi’s is a cozy spot for pasta, fish or unique salads. (Local’s hint: try the Cajun shrimp salad with fresh mozzarella and berries in season.)
Juan’s Kitchen in Mo & Sluggo’s won’t disappoint you. Some of the best Mexican fare in the region is offered in this unassuming restaurant.
There are more offerings downtown, but lets save some choices for dinner!

Explore the shops of Telegraph Square. Cherokee Scents has a great selection of candles. Pick up some specialty teas and maybe even a new tea pot at La Tea Da. You can even stop in for an afternoon coffee at Blondees in the Telegraph Square Alley and yes, that is a Cigar Bar, complete with a nice selection of Martini’s!
Carson City also has a Wal Mart, Costco and Lowes. Several shops are located in the Carson Mall on North Carson Street, including Coral West, a great place to buy western wear. Be sure to check out their selection of boots and hats!
What’s For Dinner?
The selection is so varied and delicious; you are going to have to stay for a few days!
Adele’s is always first on everyone’s list for a special 5 star dining experience. (Local’s Hint: don’t order off the menu with out hearing the long list of tempting specials!) Housed in a Victorian mansion, you are guaranteed a special evening at Adele’s.
For a more traditional Italian dinner, you can’t go wrong at Garibaldi’s. The food and service never disappoint. Locals Hint: This is the place to go if you love Tiramisu.
The Steak House at the Carson Nugget has been a local’s favorite for over 30 years; all dishes are prepared from fresh ingredients.
Casino Fandango is home to Dukes Steak House, featuring 28-day dry aged, corn fed, US prime beef. The ambiance is sure to make for a special evening.
Gold Dust West has a great steak house, too, featuring King Crab legs and giant lobster tail!
